We are now entering a new period of mood atmosphere that is sure to deliver a very different variety of feelings and emotions.

For long periods of the year Uranus exerted a dominant influence, with its erratic, eccentric, and out of character traits and inclinations.

Now on the other hand we are entering into a new mood bloc of planetary alignments, and as always this will result in very definite mood implications.

During the next few weeks the most influential conjunction is likely to be the opposition between Mercury and Saturn. Likely traits include coolly regulated and disciplined mental faculties with a logical and calculated outlook geared towards specific aims and ambitions in a meticulous and well prepared manner.

However all of this may be offset by degrees of depression, extreme lack of confidence, hesitance, and melancholia. In this situation extracting its best aspects will require persistence and discipline; the ability to dig deep, ignore the negatives and focus strongly on the task in hand.

We are now in a very delicate and sometimes uninspired mood period midway between the New Moon and Full Moon that we often refer to here as the ‘doldrums.’

Likely traits can include flattened, pessimistic, bored, or generally restrained or limited emotions with lowered self confidence, doubt, or sense of personal esteem.

Under these circumstances problems and difficulties may tower like a bastion of insurmountable proportions. Added to this there may be an easy sense of disappointment, frustration, or disillusionment. Inevitably this may give rise to irritability or impatience over even the most trivial of concerns.

At the same time personal sensitivities may assume undue importance with over attachment to the slightest degree of criticism. Indeed there may well be a deflated element of inner enthusiasm where everything acquires the dimension of an uphill task. In comparison to previous days this is likely to mark a period of reduced mood intensity.

As a result feelings and emotions may not be so acutely experienced. However there will be a subtle undertone of vibrancy that will produce unexpected reactions to mundane daily situations. These may be of an erratic, disordered, eccentric, or unstable nature but not necessarily contentious or inflammatory.

Under these circumstances there may be a questioning and exploring sense of adventure that anticipates the purpose of some future path or idea without quite managing to color the fuller picture.

At the same time there may be an inhibitory element of awareness that cautions against excess but without stiffling the flow of spontaneous impressions and inclinations. Indeed this is likely to be a deeply formative period: It’s reflective, sensitive, and imaginative possibilities open doors to newer and more enlarged horizons, but always a softening and stabilising atmosphere that may guard against excessive reactions. Although less tensioned than previous days it invites powerful and penetrating feelings that open to newer more adventurous horizons, and the possibility of altered states of mind and awareness.

Under these circumstances there may be a confusing mingling of aims and impressions with a barely defined outline that nonetheless reaches for a tantalising and even exciting reality that appears ready to be grasped.

Over time these aims may become resolvable, almost like a camera with a delayed focus. In the short term however there may be frustration or an unsettled attitude that seeks and searches but is uncertain in its choices. We are now swiftly heading for a transitional period of mood influence. This marks the change between alternating celestial factors that held significant sway over the last several weeks.

In effect we are seeing the start of a new mood cycle that will inevitably lead to a varied, robust and exciting emotional outlook.

For the immediate present there may be a release of pressure and feeling with a liberated sense of personal optimism, encouragement, and overall direction.

At the same time there may be a confused degree of purpose with erratic, spontaneous - sometimes irritable or original mood impulses that challenge and inspire more heightened, happy and out going feelings.
