Geomagnetic Storm

As if the intense planetary activity of this period wasn’t enough there is also the effects of a geomagnetic storm to contend with.

Over the last few days a strong Solar wind flow has contributed to heightened geomagnetic activity with attractive displays of auroral activity. With regards to moods and feelings this can lead to irritation, anger, confusion and a general lack of concentration with trouble in focusing on the task in hand. As a result it may feel harder to get going with an escapist disposition that could see countless distractions to a well ordered routine.

Physical symptoms may include fatigue, tiredness, sudden bouts of dizziness or palpitations with some nausea or a feeling of being unwell for no apparent reason. Headaches or toothache may develop and at the initial outset of the geomagnetic storm there could be a washed out and debilitated disposition with little motivation or enthusiasm. It should be stressed that symptoms arising from geomagnetic activity are usually short lived and if persisting for longer than several days are probably of some other origin.

But what caused this geomagnetic storm to start with? Is it purely a coincidence that we are currently in a greatly heightened period of planetary alignments or is there a connection?

Some believe that the pull of the planets in these situations is enough to trigger off reactions within the Sun leading to heightened Solar activity and stronger Solar winds that in turn lead to geomagnetic activity here on Earth. Established science has yet to prove this link but on so many occasions we have noticed that concentrated periods of planetary alignments have resulted in strong geomagnetic storms shortly afterwards.
