We are now just over a day away from the Full Moon which occurs on December 31st at 19:14 GMT (14: 14 ET). As ever this will give rise to strong nervous restlessness with increased anxiety and tension. Apprehensions and worries will be magnified so that problems may acquire undue dimensions.

In addition there will be the inevitable raised moods and feelings with the potential for forceful expression, anger, and contention. Indeed arguments may develop over the merest provocation and there may be little restraint in what is said or done. There are also likely to be simmering resentments and animosity so that even if tempers are not immediately ignited there may be a slow burn of feelings that could eventually explode with a very forceful show of emotion.

Some measure of restraint and balance will come from the alignment between the Sun and Venus. This will help tone down some of the harsher elements of this alert pattern and contribute more intimate, affectionate and understanding feelings with the possibility of romantic passions and inclinations. However where these emotions are not reciprocated, or not capable of being realised feelings of isolation and loneliness may result.

The powerful alignment featuring Mars, Earth, Jupiter, and Neptune is still at a peak and adds a complex dimension of uncertainty. Likely mood traits will largely follow the characteristics of each planet. with the passionate aggression and drive of Mars, contrasted by the more generous, humorous and fun loving attributes of Jupiter.

Then again there are the sensitive and penetrating emotions of Neptune with its self refining impulses that are sure to have their influence. Added to this there is likely to be a strong escapist element that will provide enticing distractions to the detriment of a well ordered routine.

Under these circumstances it could prove hard to concentrate with a temptation to want to take the edge off the atmosphere through either drugs or drink, or the limitless other ways in which one may strive to assuage turbulent or demanding emotions.

Coming days will continue to a broadly similar pattern and ensures that the year finishes on a heightened note of supreme complexity.

Alert is 8. Moon 95% illuminated.
