Today is the day of the winter/summer solstice according to hemisphere - either the beginning of winter or entry into summer. This occurs at precisely 17:47 GMT (12:47 pm EST).

Traditionally this is also associated with tense and nervous emotions with a heightened degree of perception and acuity. For some this may be disturbing and lead to over anxious moods and feelings with a notable element of raised awareness.

Today also features a massive alignment involving the Moon, Jupiter and Neptune. Likely emotions feature a complex mix of moods and feelings that will range from exaggerated, benevolent, and extravagant inclinations to those of a more sensitive, penetrating, and vulnerable nature. Added to this there may be confused and chaotic impulses with reduced concentration as escapist temptations prove too difficult to resist.

We are also at the beginning of an important alignment between the Sun and Venus. Over the coming weeks this will exert a decisive influence and help to tone down some of the more aggressive aspects of this period.
