We are now in what is referred to here on this site as the so called ‘doldrums’ which occurs midway between the New Moon and Full Moon, or vice versa.

Normally during this period there is a less that enthusiastic period of moods and emotions with a strong tendency towards depression, lack of confidence, and poor self esteem. This may also involve a pessimistic outlook with a sense of apathy, indifference, or fatalistic mentality that may see an undue focus on negative aspects.

This month the ‘doldrum period’ comes at a time of gathering planetary activity which sees Mars in opposition to both Jupiter and Neptune. With regards to mood traits this is likely to create a sensitive, delicate, and at times reflective mood atmosphere with powerful self refining influences. At the same time there will be an aggressive, forceful, and sometimes confrontational atmosphere with very notable passions and emotions.

This is very definitely a period to take stock of ones life and habits, make adjustments, and try to plan for the future. Even so there may be a certain sense of frustration with a vision that may become blurred by problems rather than the clarity of answers and solutions.

Either way this is a mentally active mood environment that will pose significant questions as well as dilemmas with escapist tendencies that could prove detrimental to a well ordered routine. Indeed it may prove hard to concentrate and happy will be those able to relax and take things easy, while abiding very much within their own mental and physical limitations. On the other hand those confronted by a tight deadline may come to feel especially pressured.

Coming days will see a continuation of the current emotional atmosphere, but little by little we shall soon commence the lead up to the next Full Moon with all that this entails for more tense and anxious moods. One date to look out for is the 26th of November when Uranus aligns with the Moon. This can brings extremes of mood and emotion, but more on this in the next alert bulletin.
