We are still in the so called ‘doldrum period’ with lowered moods and feelings together with uncertain, hesitant or wavering emotions. However this is far from being a typical ‘doldrum’ situation as we are still very much influenced by the alignment featuring the Sun, Saturn, Mercury, Earth and Uranus.

As mentioned in previous alerts this will lead to a variety of powerful and contrasting moods and feelings with thoughts that may range between tense nervous restlessness, to unique, eccentric and complex emotions with a tendency towards depression, futility and despair. We are now very much in the so called ‘doldrum period’ which comes midway between the New Moon and Full Moon or vice versa.

With regard to emotions this means a period of moods and feelings that may be filled with doubts and uncertainty together with notable apprehensions that may weigh heavily on the mind. There may also be a lowered element of self esteem and confidence with poor concentration and a wavering degree of enthusiasm for even ones favourite pursuits.

However this is far from constituting a typical ‘doldrum period’ and we are currently still under the influence of a major alignment that although on the wane still exerts a major effect on this alert pattern. This still continues to be a very heightened mood situation with restless and animated emotions that may provide a poor sense of stability and balance. The reason for this is the continuing alignment featuring the Sun, Saturn, Mercury, Earth and Uranus.

With regard to emotions this constitutes a major mood influencing situation with contrasting feelings that may tend to cancel each other out, but which also introduce uncertain, indecisive and wavering inclinations.

Under these circumstances there may be a deep element of doubt or depression concerning ones plans and ideas with a notable degree of apprehension. On the other hand the effects of Uranus and Mercury may instil original, imaginative, and colourful suggestions with a broad spectrum of feeling that may be hard to place in context. Although there is a palpable decline in the intensity of moods and emotions this still continues to be a highly complex and alert mood pattern.

In many respects this is a celestial atmosphere of contrasting influences that may tend to cancel each other out. For example there is the extreme, eccentric, and out of character emotions associated with Uranus, combined with the more calculated, reserved and depressive nature of Saturn. Yet again there is the more alert, forceful, but apprehensive nature of Mercury that may lead to over stimulated feelings with a high degree of mental restlessness.

Today is the day of the autumn equinox (spring in the southern hemisphere) and this carries its own separate tensions and emotions. Essentially it means a period of very heightened moods that comes just a matter of days after the New Moon in a period of very complex celestial activity.

With regards to moods and emotions we have a period of contrasting feelings with sharply polarised moods that to some extent may tend to cancel each other out. However what is left is a confusing, and at times unsettling mix of potent feelings and inclinations with no obvious solution.

As stated in previous alerts this period is still highly influenced by major planetary alignments. Particularly evident will be the effects of Mercury and Uranus with their unsettling, apprehensive, bizarre and unusual mood impulses. Read the rest of this entry »
