We are now in the middle of the so called ‘doldrum period’, which comes midway between the Full and New Moon, or vice versa. As a result moods will tend to be restrained, limited, or depressive with reduced enthusiasm and inspiration, as well as lowered self confidence and esteem. Nevertheless there may be a more disciplined, controlled and calculated attitude with a reasoned and rational disposition.

As mentioned in previous alerts we are now at the peak of numerous planetary alignments that are sharply polarised with widely differing mood traits that will only add more complexity to an already heightened mood situation.

The Sun is now coming to the peak of its alignment with Saturn, whilst also being in opposition to Uranus. With regard to moods this will accentuate the more controlled and disciplined influences mentioned above, but also heighten the more depressive elements of this alert pattern. On the other hand the influence of Uranus will tend to more exaggerated and dramatic emotions with the risk of extreme situations.

Yet again some balance will come from the massive alignment which sees Venus in opposition to both Jupiter and Neptune. With regards to moods this means a period of affectionate, refined and delicate feelings together with a greater sense of harmony and rhythm. It also means a period of ardent affections with a better appreciation of things of beauty and firmer values, or else those emotions that strike to the very centre of what we really want. On the other hand this can lead to exaggerated tastes and feelings with vulgar, vane, and idealistic traits that will be balanced by a more philosophical, mystical, or spiritual outlook.

All in all this is a highly complex emotional situation with contrasting emotions that can turn one way and then another. Essentially though there may be a presiding element of doubt and insecurity with lowered confidence that may fall easy prey to over indulgence in food and drink, or escapism in its limitless guises.
