We are now at the height of a particularly intense period of moods and emotions. This comes on the very day of the New Moon which this month coincides with a period of powerful planetary alignments. Over the last week or so these have received a great deal of attention here on the Mood Alert but for those who may not follow the alert daily here is a review and prediction of probable moods and feelings.

One of the newest of the current alignments is the alignment between Mercury and Mars. This will result in very heightened sense of awareness with alert and nervously restless thoughts and attitudes. It can also lead to argumentative and sarcastic outbursts with an irritable, and emotional outlook together with a tendency towards over doing things, resulting in exhaustion or fatigue.

Fortunately this mood is tempered by the influence of Jupiter, which is now aligned with the Sun and also in opposition to the Moon. Likely mood traits include brighter and more fun loving inclinations with an improved sense of optimism and well being. This can create vibrant social interaction but can also result in exaggerated or extravagant responses with the possibility of mishaps and accidents or reckless behaviour with little heed for caution. Just one or two days separate us from the New Moon and moods are understandably tense and on edge in what is an exceptionally complex celestial pattern. There will also be a high degree of nervous restlessness with an increased degree of awareness that could create needless apprehension and worry.

As a result it could feel difficult to settle and problems may appear magnified to an undue extent. Added to this there may be a general sense of unease with troubling emotions, even if at times it may not be possible to identify the source of these misgivings. Suffice it to say that those susceptible to delicate or sensitive mood atmospheres may find this current period quite challenging.

One of the principal features of this current alert is the alignment of the Moon and Mars. Indeed within the next few days the Moon will be aligning with numerous planets in quick succession creating a roller coaster of emotions that could prove unsettling. With regards to the Moon/Mars alignment this could produce more aggressive and passionate inclinations with forceful and assertive attitudes along with opinions that may be very strongly expressed. With just two or three days to go before the New Moon feelings are likely to be tense and on edge with increased nervous restlessness and anxiety.

As a result this is likely to represent a period with heightened awareness with raised apprehensions and concerns. Problems will appear to weigh more on the mind and made to acquire undue proportions. The next few days is also likely to see an increase in overall aggression, anger, and confrontational attitudes that may result in arguments and contentious encounters.

Feelings of aggression will be especially apparent around the 24th of January as the Moon begins to align with Mars. This will accentuate the above mentioned traits and make it a period especially prone to volatile or passionate outbursts.

A better sense of optimism and well being is still likely from the ongoing alignment between the Sun and Jupiter. This is now past its peak but is still influential and is contributing to a more zestful, humorous and generous disposition, but also an increased risk of exaggerated and extravagant gestures. These could render one open to mishaps, accidents or substantial errors of judgement particularly when it comes to finance as there will be an over zealous attitude tinged with false impressions of self superiority. The Sun is now at the height of its alignment with Jupiter, at the same time that Uranus and Venus are closely aligned, whilst also being in opposition to Saturn. Inevitably this is creating a highly tense and anxious situation with increased nervous restlessness that is made even more apparent by the proximity of the New Moon in three or four days.

At least as moods concern the Sun/Jupiter alignment these will incline to better disposed feelings and attitudes. Hence there is likely to be a more optimistic and good humoured outlook with light hearted gestures and impulses, but also a propensity towards extravagance, exaggeration, or serious misjudgement. In addition there may be a false sense of superiority with conceit and arrogance that could make one prone to mishaps, accidents or the expenditure of large sums of money.

The other major alignment concerning Venus and Uranus, both of whom are in opposition to Saturn, brings a complex emotional environment that will easily incline towards the need for affection and intimacy, but also conjure up the desire for unusual, even perverse tastes and values with out of character thoughts and feelings that will not easily be ignored. We are now just four or five days away from the New Moon and moods and feelings are understandably on edge. Indeed the combination of the phase of the Moon and a spate of powerful planetary alignments have contributed to a highly challenging moods atmosphere this is filled with tense nervous restlessness.

As it is the influence of Venus and Uranus will be very strong creating moods of affection and the need for intimacy but also the possibility of bizarre tastes and values with out of character actions that may need careful handling. In many respects this is a mood situation very similar to the previous days with the added tension of being one more day closer to the New Moon.

The influence of the Sun as it aligns with both Mercury and Jupiter will tend to create powerful nervous and mental activity. In addition there may be a changeable, restless and unsettled disposition that will look for variety and change.
