This period is definitely one of the most sensitive times of the year. Ancient societies certainty recognised it as such and its evocative emotional impact was later embraced by Christianity for its most sacred festival.

This period is also well known for its lack of concentration, so that hard work and dedication become all the more difficult and is no doubt why for thousands of years late December was always devoted to celebrations and festivities of varying licentiousness.

As for the present Christmas this reveals some tensions ahead of the New Moon and also the more sensitive, sentimental and unsettling effects of the Venus/Neptune alignment which is a perfect accompaniment to the nostalgia that Christmas can often evoke.

As a time of family gatherings Christmas can bring its own tensions, but on the day these may be contained for fear of spoiling the atmosphere. However subsequent days following Christmas may lead to pent up emotions being expressed in a highly volatile fashion especially when one finds oneself in the company of people one would much sooner avoid.

All in all this is far from being the worst Christmas atmosphere and opens the way to a better understanding with others and also the chance to take stock and place in order ones priorities.
