We are now entering that short but noticeable period that we often refer to here as the emotional doldrums.

This occurs midway between the Full Moon and New Moon and vice versa. It is characterised by lowered moods and enthusiasm with diminished inspiration and a flattening of feeling even towards ones favourite tasks and activities. This can lead to depression and low self confidence, together with a profoundly pessimistic outlook that may see very little cheer in the future ahead. Likewise ones future prospects may come to be seen as unnecessarily bleak. Under these circumstances problems will be magnified and there may be a tendency to worry or needless preoccupation.

The Mercury/Venus alignment that influenced moods over the last month or so has now come to an end, though Mercury still remains in alignment to Mars. This can lead to quick and assertive moods with forthright and passionate emotions that may result in arguments, shows of rebelliousness, or quite volatile outbursts of anger. In addition there may be an undercurrent of animosity and resentfulness with easily ignited feelings.
