Today sees an alignment between the Moon, Mercury and Venus. In this immediate post New Moon atmosphere this is bound to increase nervous restlessness even further to create quick, alert, and responsive moods with a better sense of harmony and rhythm. On the other hand it can also lead to a worrying and apprehensive disposition with a strong desire for variety and change. At the same time there may be an indecisive attitude so that important decisions, or indeed any decisions at all will not come easy.

Because the Moon is aligned with Venus there will be a better sense of understanding, friendliness, and affection, with strong creative and expressional abilities. Other aspects of this alert may tend to offset some of these traits but they will still be very much in evidence and together with the still existing New Moon influence will make this period one of increased zest and nervously inclined activity.

The Sun is still very much in alignment with Saturn, with both of them in opposition to Uranus. With regard to moods this will create a sharply polarised mood spectrum with the disciplined, restrained and limited nature of Saturn, contrasted by the more erratic, extreme and at time drastic qualities of Uranus.

Under these circumstances feelings of inadequacy or low self esteem with a pessimistic or even depressed and introspective outlook may be countered by those of an explosively turbulent nature with the possibility of disruptive or unsettled emotions and a strong tendency towards eccentric or out of character behaviour. As well as anything this can lead to the most brutal acts of violence involving previously law abiding citizens who all of a sudden just snap under the extreme pressure of the circumstances.

Recently this was quite graphically illustrated by a failed British businessman who rather than surrender his property to the bailiffs is believed to have shot dead his wife and daughter together with their horses before setting fire to his plush country mansion and killing himself. At the moment the influence of Saturn may control the worst aspects of Uranus, but this still remains a highly combustible atmosphere and where there is the consumption of alcohol (which there is believed to have been in the above mentioned case) the possibility exists for particularly extreme moods and circumstances.

All in all this constitutes an alert, active and zestful mood atmosphere with exaggerated fears and concerns, but also a propensity towards extremes, so that arguments may develop over the most inconsequential of matters.
