28th - 29th August 2008

We are now in the immediate run up to the New Moon which this month occurs on August 30th at 19:59 GMT, or 14:59 EDT. Inevitably moods and emotions will be tense and on edge with increased stress and anxiety together with raised nervous restlessness. In addition to this there are likely to be aggressive and belligerent moods and feelings together with the possibility of extreme moods and circumstances.

Under these conditions some may feel on the verge of crisis, though on the more positive side this mood does offer plenty of zestful energy for on going schemes and ventures. Numerous planetary alignments also make this a period of great complexity. As mentioned in previous alert bulletins we are now exiting one bloc of alignment that affected moods over the last month or so only to come under the influence of another. For example we shall very shortly see the alignment of the Sun and Saturn. Regarding moods this is likely to result in restrained, limited, and disciplined inclinations but also a propensity towards poor self confidence, pessimism and a generalised lack of enthusiasm.

At the same time the Sun is also coming into opposition with Uranus and this may create exacting and intense feelings with the usual tendency of Uranus, which is to extremes of mood and circumstance, as well as bizarre, unusual, or out of character moods and emotions. Under these circumstances very strong feelings may be ignited into uncontrollable outbursts that will see little restraint in what is said or done. These will be made all the more forceful by the consumption of alcohol and since there may also be a temptation to drink more than usual the possibility of alcohol fuelled excess is very great.

As on previous days the alignment between Mercury and Venus will contribute to a degree of harmony and understanding with added feelings of sympathy and affection, together with an energetic disposition that will be a welcome boost to any physical activity. On the other hand Venus and Mercury are still both in alignment to Uranus, which is one of the most unsettling of planets and capable of feelings and attitudes that deviate powerfully from the norm.

All in all this is a tense but varied mood atmosphere with the harsher New Moon attitudes and eccentricities of Uranus balanced by Mercury and Venus. Another restraining factor comes from the influence of Saturn, so that although there is the possibility of turmoil, it’s worst aspects will probably be offset by other more balanced attributes.

Alert is 8. Moon 7% illuminated.
