We are still only just four days beyond the Full Moon and subtle tensions and anxieties still hold sway, so that although there is a diminishing of the very heightened moods of last week, this is still an atmosphere likely to cause problems for those of a sensitive disposition.

Over the last three weeks or so this raised element of sensitivity can be attributed to numerous alignments of Neptune, and in particular the opposition between the Sun and Neptune. Traits such as increased awareness and perception, along with impressionable self refining attitudes tinged with sentimental, idealistic and reflective inclinations may all have been very much in evidence. So too feelings of a psychic and intuitive nature, with added insight into mystical and spiritual awareness that has presented opportunities to open up new avenues of personal discovery or introduce states of mind that may previously have lain closed and out of reach.

On the other hand the Sun/Neptune opposition can also open up serious personal shortcomings with an intense desire for escapist tendencies. For the most vulnerable this may have a particular focus on drug or alcohol abuse and the present circumstances will heighten any such inclinations. For others this escapism may take on relatively more harmless cravings or desires, but whatever the case there is likely to be powerful and sometimes unsettling feelings for instant emotional rewards and gratification.

Another important mood influence at this time is the alignment between Venus and Mercury, both of which are also in opposition to Uranus. This is likely to create a strongly sensuous atmosphere but as with anything involving Uranus there will be a propensity towards extremes, with an emphasis on eccentricity, perversity, or seemingly out of character moods and emotions.

Venus and Mercury will instil a more understanding, harmonious and affectionate disposition, but these feelings will find a constant influence from the more devious and erratic qualities of Uranus and there fore create strong uncertainty, indecision and insecurity.

We should not forget that Mars still remains in opposition to Uranus and although this alignment is very close to its end it still exerts influence. Indeed for nearly a month now this has created erratic strong willed emotions with a powerful sense of deviation from the norm. During this period divorce rates have spiralled and previously restrained and dignified politicians have been mentioning threats of nuclear war. Above all this uniquely demonstrates how vulnerable the peace and security of the planet is to celestial influence , even though those most at the centre of these events would ridicule any such connection.

Coming days should see a slow diminishing in the intensity of moods and emotions, as we begin to head towards what is often referred to here as the ‘doldrum’ period. But more on this in future alert bulletins.
