We are still very much in a period of heightened moods and feelings that for some will come close to crisis level with complex emotions that will be filled with contrasting influences. This comes at a time that is at the height of one of the years most concentrated periods of planetary alignments. Essentially it means there will be a bewildering and confusing array of feelings and sensations, dispositions and attitudes, that will have both negative and positive mood attributes whose consequences or benefits may be around for a long time to come.

One of the principal influences of this time is the developing opposition between the Sun and Neptune. This is likely to bring considerably more refined, delicate and sensitive moods to the emotional spectrum. This may evoke feelings of a creative or artistic nature and act as a boost to all expressional activities. In addition there will be enhanced mystical or spiritual awareness with the potential to open up new avenues of personal enquiry. Unfortunately it may also instil a yearning for escapism through alcohol or drugs and those of an addictive disposition may find themselves acutely challenged at this stage. In any case the temptation towards any form of escapism will be hard to ignore and this may cause havoc with ones daily schedule that could be subject to considerable distraction.

This week also sees the start of the Neptune/Mercury opposition. Although this will last barely longer than a week it will leave a powerful influence with an easily disturbed nervous system along with vague, confused or absentminded inclinations. This same opposition will however tend towards refined, idealistic, or imaginative mood influences that will be capable of sensitive and deeply penetrating moods and emotions.

Venus still remains in opposition to Neptune, which will enhance the above mentioned influences and also serve to introduce a finer appreciation of beauty with a better sense of harmony and rhythm. However this may also incline to self deception, scandal or easy disillusionment. This means that although there may be a definite sense of ambition and purpose along with a strong desire to succeed, these aspirations may be dampened by powerful distractions or easy disappointment that may not respond well to any discouragement.

Considerably more belligerent, arrogant and aggressive moods may stem from the on going opposition between Mars and Uranus which lasts until the last week in September. As well as energetic and enterprising moods and feelings this can also result in excitable, erratic and strongly self willed emotions with high nervous restlessness. As with any alignment associated with Uranus this will also lead to feelings that may strongly deviate from ones normal outlook, with the potential for bizarre, eccentric and even perverse modes of behaviour.

All in all this is a highly complex emotional setting that is still capable of extremes of mood and experience. This will be particularly likely where there is the consumption of alcohol as it effects will not only be magnified but there will also be a temptation to drink more than usual. Certainly this is not one of the easiest mood atmospheres but as mentioned earlier it can unlock hidden dimensions of personal discovery in a way that could never have been imagined.
