We are now only just several days beyond the New Moon and moods and emotions continue to be tense and on edge at a time when we are in the midst of one of the years most concentrated periods of planetary alignments.

With regards to moods and emotions there is bound to be tense nervous restlessness with a peculiar mixture of contrasting emotions that may be hard to predict with any certainty. Suffice it to say that this particular combination of moods and feelings may be quite unique to most people’s experience and lead to an altered awareness that will be subject to various influences, both positive and negative.

Since we are just days after the New Moon it is inevitable there will be some degree of aggression and belligerence with irritable moods along with easily aroused passions that may ignite into spectacular shows of anger and defiance.

The above mentioned emotions will be even further accentuated by today’s alignment between the Moon and Mars, both of which will also be in opposition to Uranus. As frequent visitors to this site will know, any alignment between the Moon and Uranus is likely to lead to bizarre or out of character moods and feelings, with unstable, over-excitable and emotionally charged emotions that could be subject to extremes. As well as anything this may lead to friction within the family setting with drastic or dramatic solutions to even the most mundane of problems.

The Moon will stay in opposition to Uranus until around 02:00 GMT (22:00 EDT), although the Uranus/Mars opposition is rather more slow moving and will last until the last week of August.

This period also sees the beginning of the alignment between the Sun and Neptune. This too will be influential until around the last week of August and will bring considerably more refined, delicate and sensitive moods to the emotional spectrum. This may evoke feelings of a creative or artistic nature and act as a boost to all expressional activities. In addition there will be enhanced mystical or spiritual awareness with the potential to open up new avenues of personal enquiry. Unfortunately it may also instil a yearning for escapism through alcohol or drugs and those of an addictive disposition may find themselves acutely challenged. In any case the temptation towards any form of escapism will be hard to ignore and this may cause havoc with ones daily schedule that could be subject to considerable distraction.

Some may find this atmosphere filled with sentimental, idealistic, or romantically impractical ideas and dispositions and there may be a heavy sense of indecision with self deception and confusion.

This is far from being a ‘usual’ atmosphere and feelings will be subject to a wide variety of influences with clashing emotions that could prove bewildering. However it may also prove creatively rewarding and there will be the chance to be able to think and perceive in a manner that may be far from ones normal perspective. This may be for better or for worse, but this atmosphere does at least offer a brief period to sample an altered psychology whose benefits or consequences may be around for a long time to come.
