4th of July - The astronomical significance

The astronomical significance of July 4th is that it coincides with Solar Aphelion, which is the time in the Earth’s yearly orbit when our planet is farthest from the Sun. The Sun actually looks smaller by 1.7% and actually radiates 3.5 % less heat when compared to the yearly average.

Happy 4th of July to all who celebrate.

Today will see a continuation of the tense and anxious conditions of previous days and although there may just be a slight diminishing of their intensity, it will be only slight. As a result there is likely to be an atmosphere of heightened nervous restlessness with notable fears and anxieties. In addition there will be a an unmistakable sense of urgency and problems will appear magnified or assume undue proportions.

Under these circumstances there will be a tendency to irrational fears and concerns and some of these have the potential to assume obsessive proportions that could make it difficult to settle or feel at ease. Predominantly this may involve worries over health or financial issues and any difficulties may appear to loom large.

Venus still continues at the height of its opposition with Jupiter and this will instil a more affable and affectionate mood atmosphere that will readily dispose itself to a convivial atmosphere and a propensity to good fun and entertainment. On the other hand this alignment can also tend towards extravagance and over generosity with exaggerated or careless gestures that may lead to mistakes and accidents.
