We are now just two days away from the New Moon and this is creating very heightened moods and feelings with a strong element of anxiety and tension.

As a result feelings will be very much on edge and this could prove to be a time of the greatest emotional challenge with the possibility that some will feel driven to the very edge of what they feel they can stand. In this respect it is sometimes forgotten that the New Moon can be every bit as stressful as the Full Moon and sometimes, depending on the various other alignments even more so.

The forces associated with the New Moon are very dramatically illustrated by the fact that of the ten strongest earthquakes during the last century no fewer than eight show a definite New Moon connection. With regards to moods and emotions it means that feelings will be susceptible to vulnerable, insecure, and at times very apprehensive influence that will heighten problems and difficulties to a considerable extent. In fact we have here all the ingredients for extremes of mood and circumstance and it will not be easy to escape the intense atmosphere of this period. As well as anything this will dispose itself to extremely anxious inclinations with a heightened risk of panic attacks, agitation and turmoil.

The above situation is not made any easier by the alignment of the Moon and Mercury. This can lead to a more perceptive and intuitive mood atmosphere with a sensitive and alert disposition accompanied by a strong desire for variety and change. In addition it may lead to a worrying, indecisive, attitude with restless and changeable traits. Under these circumstances there may be poor memory with reduced concentration. Added to this there may be increased emotional confusion with particularly strong or unsettling emotions.

Today sees the start of an alignment that is sure to exert a fundamental influence over moods and feelings during the next three weeks. This concerns the alignment between Mars and Saturn. Likely mood traits include limited and controlled emotion, but with a tendency to hard and ambitious inclinations. Taken to an extreme these may turn to violent or unscrupulous behaviour, but will more likely tend towards forceful and assertive mood patterns. This alignment will also see materialistic and constructive energy but so too a propensity towards destructive and cruel emotions.

It will be seen that this present atmosphere harbours considerable potential for extreme or intense emotions with an atmosphere that is overloaded with tension and anxiety. Many will see it as a substantial challenge, but on the more positive side this period offers plenty of zestful energy that provided it can be harnessed correctly will be a boost to on going schemes and ventures.
