A special warning applies to the period up until around midnight GMT or 20:00 EDT. This concerns the alignment between the Moon and Uranus. As frequent visitors to this site will know this is one of the most unsettling of the routine monthly Lunar alignments and is capable of extremes of circumstance.

On the face of it this present mood pattern does not resemble a high alert rating. For example the phase of the Moon is now tending towards more sedate and easy going moods while the still influential Sun/Venus alignment is contributing to more sympathetic and agreeable feelings with a distinct love of pleasure seeking experiences. However the seemingly innocuous nature of this present alert pattern belies the very real potential for disruption that this atmosphere represents. Indeed as we have said numerous times already Moon/Uranus alignments are often to be found at the time of particularly brutal or otherwise inexplicably heinous murders and other events that have the power to astonish, alarm, and disgust in equal measure. Even more remarkable is that these events frequently have as their perpetrator people of a previously law abiding character who then suddenly crack to produce acts of extreme violence.

Fortunately by no means everyone is driven to even contemplate such extremes but Moon/Uranus alignments have the potential to cause bizarre, unusual, perverse, or out of character thoughts and emotions with the ability to unlock the darkest side of ones personality. In addition there may be highly charged and over excitable moods with increased restlessness together with galvanic bursts of energy that may be highly motivated towards issues of a reforming nature. The principal feature of this current alert is the opposition between the Moon and Saturn. This will stay active until around 20:30 GMT, or 16:30 EDT. Likely mood traits to result from this include a more restrained and disciplined outlook with rigid or emotionally restricted disposition. Although this will serve to lower the heightened mood atmosphere of the last week or so it may also induce emotions that could tend towards melancholia or depression. In addition there is likely to be a diminished sense of confidence with timid or reserved gestures along with pessimistic inclinations.

Other emotions include deeply self conscious awareness and a sense of ones own personal limitations. Above all this may invite sensitive and self recriminatory feelings with the idea that events, or life in general may be passing you by.

Taken on its own the above mentioned opposition would tend to generate a rather morose and defeatist atmosphere but fortunately this is balanced by other sources that inspire a more zestful mentality. In particular there is the continuing alignment between the Sun and Venus. Although this is now coming to its close it still remains influential and for close on the last month it has produced more agreeable and pleasure seeking moods that at the very least have ensured that the harsher elements of this period were not as extreme as they might otherwise have been. One of the principal features of this current alert is the continuing alignment between the Moon and Neptune. This has been active for close to 24 hours and its period of influence will persist until around 19:00 GMT, or 15:00 EDT. Likely mood traits to result from this include extreme emotional sensitivity with unstable or vulnerable emotions that may be prone to doubts and insecurity.

In addition there will be a firm tendency towards escapism so that ones daily routine may be subject to considerable distraction and it will not be easy to focus on the task in hand. As a result it may prove harder to get going and jobs may be left unfinished or hurriedly disposed of to a lower than usual standard of efficiency. As well as this there may be a disposition towards deceit or even neurotic inclinations that may involve intensely irrational fears and anxieties.

During the whole of the above mentioned period the Moon will also be in opposition to Mars and the two will remain conjunct until around 07:00 GMT, or 03:00 EDT on the 24th of June. Although there is not the same degree of tension and anxiety as on previous days there is still enough nervous restlessness around to cause problems. In addition this period is also at the focus of an extended period of heightened sensitivity with vulnerable and penetrating moods that have the potential to be unsettling.

For some this may be a period of strong mental confusion with doubts and questions regarding ones direction in life coupled with a frustrating sense of inertia regarding any probable solutions. Not surprisingly this may lead to some inner turmoil with a powerful feeling for change and variety. As a result it may prove harder to get going and there may be a lack of clear vision or determination to effect any changes.

These inclinations will receive further boost from the continuing opposition between Mars and Neptune. Amongst other things its likely traits involve strong self refining inclinations that will be keen to set right any shortcomings to ones lifestyle as well as a desire for a clearer impression of ones future direction. Today sees the beginning of northern Summer or southern Winter, and this period of the Solstice has its own separate tensions and anxieties. This may involve over sensitive moods and feelings with vulnerable or apprehensive emotions together with a heightened sense of awareness.

The proximity of the Full Moon of only a few days ago will heighten feelings still further and for those susceptible to sensitive mood atmospheres this could prove to be a challenging period. The reality is that most people may find themselves prone to increased nervous restlessness with increased anxiety and tension. Added to this there is the possibility of strong fears and apprehensions so that problems will appear magnified and assume undue dimensions.

As with any immediate post Full Moon atmosphere there is the potential for increased aggression and belligerence with the possibility of arguments, irritability and contentious encounters. However as with previous days the continuing alignment between the Sun and Venus will lead to more sympathetic and understanding moods and feelings. It will also foster affectionate or considerate attentions with powerful feelings of intimacy and romance. Indeed passions of a sensuous nature may easily be ignited and there will be a definite pleasure seeking atmosphere that may prove distracting to a well ordered routine. Under these circumstances escapist inclinations will be difficult to resist, with a strong need for variety and change or the challenge of something different and more rewarding.
