Today sees an intense period of planetary alignments with no fewer than 6 planets, together with the Sun and the Moon in some way aligned with the Earth. Inevitably this will also lead to an equally intense period of moods and emotions in a mood atmosphere that for some may approach crisis level.

More especially this is likely to feel like a hyper alert mood period with increased awareness and perception with raised nervous restlessness. As a result there will be vulnerable and sometimes unsettling moods with a racing mind that will see problems magnified. In addition there may plenty of concerns and apprehensions and problems may weigh heavily on the mind.

Two major alignments feature prominently in this alert pattern. The first is the alignment featuring the Sun, Mercury and Venus. This is now close to a peak and is creating powerful moods and feelings with an intense awareness that some may find too much for comfort. Indeed this may be of a dimension capable of generating high anxiety with nervous episodes and even panic attacks. Added to this there may be acute emotional frustration with problems in making up ones mind or a loathing for situations requiring a high degree of responsibility.

The alignment between the Sun and Venus is likely to create a strong need for sympathy and understanding with a craving for intimacy or affection. This will also lead to a strong sense of values. On the other hand this is a fundamentally pleasure seeking atmosphere with escapist tendencies that could make it difficult to stick to the task in hand. As a result ones daily routine will suffer and there will be a powerful need for change and variety, particularly through travel or through new and exciting experiences.

This tendency for change may be made all the more likely through the opposition between the Moon and Jupiter. The pair will stay aligned until around midnight GMT (20:00 EDT) Likely mood traits include a more generous and sympathetic disposition with instinctive judgement, together with a fun loving or jocular outlook. However there is also the chance that moods may tend towards exaggerated behaviour, extravagance, or careless and unstable emotions. This may involve a certain degree of recklessness - especially likely where there is the consumption of alcohol - and could lead to accidents, mishaps or large financial losses.

As outlined in the previous alert bulletin Mars is now in opposition to Neptune. This may lead to sensitive and energetic moods with the potential for irrational fears and increased emotional confusion. On the other hand it can also result in a highly vivid imagination with great creative potential that will act as a boost for all activities of an expressional nature. In addition there may be leanings towards mystical or spiritual awareness that may open up new and rewarding pathways of personal discovery.

Once again this will not be one of the easiest mood atmospheres. Indeed the complexity of the current celestial pattern is such that intense and powerful moods are almost guaranteed. However there are advantages and the dynamic energy of this time coupled with the desire for change and variety could open the way to new ideas and experiences that may become a permanent and beneficial feature of ones life for a long time to come.
