We are now just three or four days away from the New Moon and already the first signs of its influence are beginning to make themselves apparent. This means a gradual increase in overall tension and anxiety so that moods will have a stronger and more zestful feel to them.

In addition there will be a more urgent sense of awareness and perception that will lead to increased concern and apprehension. Consequently problems may begin to appear magnified or assume undue proportions. Similarly there may be irrational fears and obsessions and some of these may be directed towards issues of personal health. This could mean that symptoms of a minor nature become magnified and linger in the mind causing yet further stress and anxiety.

As with any impending New Moon situation there will be the possibility of raised tempers with irritability and anger. This could lead to needless arguments and conflict and any areas of contention may be unduly magnified. This will be especially likely where there is the consumption of alcohol whose effects will be magnified and could lead to nasty scenes and episodes. Added to this there will be a temptation to drink more than usual as a means of taking the edge off a steadily increasing period of strained moods and feelings. Read the rest of this entry »

Moods and feelings may currently occupy a nondescript phase of the emotional spectrum. This means no clear division of any particular mood traits, so that to some extent this will be another day that could resemble the emotional doldrums.

With regard to current moods and feelings this is likely to prove a period with reduced zest and enthusiasm, making it harder to get going or maintain any great inspiration for the task in hand. Hence this mood may suit those able to take things very much at their own pace and placing few demands on ones time and efforts. In other words just great for a vacational atmosphere but not so helpful for those working to a tight deadline.

In addition this mood may be vulnerable to an easy sense of disappointment or disillusionment with a reduced determination to respond to problems and difficulties. For the second day running this atmosphere may well equate to the equivalent of the emotional doldrums with no great highs or lows and with a restricted emotional outlook. This follows the current phase of the Moon which is just around mid way between the Full Moon and the next New on July 3rd.

With regards to moods and feelings there may be a limited, not to say inhibited emotional range that for some may tend towards depression or melancholia. It can also result in lowered self confidence and enthusiasm with not quite the same zest and determination for on going tasks and ventures. Consequently it may feel harder to get going with a reduced senses of inspiration for even ones favourite pursuits. In addition there may be an easy sense of disappointment or disillusionment and although there may be an urge to embark on new and more exciting ventures the first problems may prove too discouraging to surmount.

This current atmosphere will suit a vacational mood or those who are able to place few demands on their time and efforts and are basically able to sit back and relax according to an unhurried routine. On the other hand those under a tight deadline may come to feel especially pressured with the added burden of poor concentration together with escapist inclinations that will easily be distracted by other more instantly rewarding alternatives. What a difference just 24 hours can make to the overall mood scene. Only yesterday the emphasis was on the extreme moods of the Moon/Uranus alignment and now that this is over there is an altogether quieter mood environment that for many will come as a welcome respite after the intensity of the last week. Indeed this phase of the Moon, around 50% illuminated is often described here as a period akin to the ‘emotional doldrums’ with few great highs or lows.

Under these circumstances there may be all the right ingredients to suit those wanting to relax or else work according to a sedate and unhurried pace. On the other hand those on a tight deadline may come to feel especially pressured as it will require extra effort and determination to achieve the same level of output that would have come quite naturally only several days ago.

Another propitious factor of this period is the continuing alignment between the Sun and Venus. This is now well passed its peak but still remains influential. For just over a month this has led to a more agreeable and understanding atmosphere with a greater sense of sympathy and affection. It has also cultivated a romantic, and a times sensuous pleasure seeking atmosphere that at the very least has ensured that the harsher elements of this period have not become too intense. This alignment is now on the wane and in the coming week will fade altogether.

Mars and Neptune still remain at the height of their opposition and this is generating a degree of confusion with sensitive and vulnerable feelings that are prone to irrational fears and apprehensions. As mentioned in previous alert bulletins this alignment can produce powerful self refining emotions that may act as a time of reflection to weigh up and change those areas of ones outlook that may be less than agreeable.
