We are now just three or four days away from the next New Moon and this will have an important influence on moods over the next week or so. Likely mood traits will include tense and anxious emotions with plenty of nervous restlessness. In addition there is likely to be a lack of concentration with trouble in settling so that it could prove difficult to relax.

As with any New Moon environment there is likely to be aggressive or assertive inclinations with highly strung moods, over emotional outbursts and increased sensitivity. Similarly there may be a propensity towards doubts and fears with reduced self confidence and a worrying attitude that may be hard to pacify.

Under these circumstances there is likely to be a hyper sensitivity to events and happenings with an increased risk of turbulent or passionate emotions and even the possibility of panic attacks. At the same time problems may loom large and quickly acquire seemingly insoluble dimensions.

Although there is the risk of bad tempered responses together with an offhand approach to personal acquaintances the actions of the current Sun/Venus alignment will at least ensure these feelings do at least have a measure of restraint to them.

As frequent visitors to this site will know the Sun is now in an on going alignment with Venus that will last until around the end of June. This is likely to bring friendlier and more affectionate emotions, with a greater degree of sympathy and understanding. It can also lead to intense feelings of intimacy or romance and here there is the risk that these feelings become exaggerated or misapplied to the point of blurring the boundaries of decency or respectability. This situation may also lead to intense emotional frustration, with a tendency to escapism that may prove distracting or ruinous to a well established daily routine.

As a result everyday tasks may tend to be neglected in favour of other more attractive alternatives, particularly those that appear to offer instant emotional rewards. Indeed this atmosphere may be no liker of the humdrum or ordinary, and will instead give rise to the need for variety and excitement. At the less original end of the scale it may simply mean eating or drinking more than usual, or else indulging in retail therapy. Here there will be the risk of purchasing items simply for the thrill of it, and quite large sums of money may be spent on items that may quickly lose their appeal.

All in all this may be an atmosphere that responds badly to a well ordered routine but considerably better to an adventurous or exploring attitude, since novelties will be very much appreciated. On the other hand this emotional climate may be low in responsibility and will suit individual efforts rather than those requiring a co-ordinated team effort. Where it does rate highly is for activities of a creative or artistic nature or indeed any activities relying on a high degree of expressional ability.

As mentioned above this mood also responds well be amorous thoughts and inclinations but with the risk that passions may occasionally run too strong for comfort.

Alert is 7. Moon 25% illuminated.
