One of the main features of this current alert pattern is the continuing opposition between the Moon and Mars. This is relatively slow moving and will remain influential until around 18:00 GMT (14:00 EDT) on the 26th of May.

Likely mood traits to result from this include increased anxiety and tension with heightened nervous restlessness and agitation. There is also likely to be irritable and aggressive moods with easily enflamed passions that may lead to arguments, volatile behaviour, or needless confrontation. In addition there may be intolerant, indiscreet, or impatient responses with a keen sense of like and dislike.

Fortunately the more aggressive elements of the Moon/Mars opposition will be balanced by the effects of the alignment between the Sun and Venus. This is likely to introduce more understanding and affectionate feelings with a powerful need to form sympathetic relationships. Similarly there may be yearnings for intimacy and romance, which if over exaggerated or misapplied could bring intense disappointment with an added sense of isolation and loneliness.

The Sun/Venus alignment is also likely to lead to artistic or creative activities with an appreciation of the finer things in life either through music, the arts in general, or simply a more harmonious attitude to ones surroundings and immediate environment.

Saturn still exerts a noticeable degree of influence and although the effects of Mars will incline towards, robust, determined and forceful activity, the influence of Saturn will ensure control and balance, as well as a restricting and restraining disposition. However this can also mean a powerful degree of self limitation with reduced self confidence, indecision, or a loathing for situations of high responsibility. It can also introduce emotions that may tend towards disillusionment, easy disappointment, or intense pessimism and futility.

Under these present circumstances it means that even if there is an intense enthusiasm to achieve and get things done, there may be a counter element that sees difficulties and problems at every turn. Furthermore it may seem difficult to concentrate on the task in hand and decisions will not be based on the best of consideration.

The early part of the week ahead will continue to be dominated by a quick series of Lunar alignments that will bring equally swift changing moods in what promises to be a colourful start to the week ahead.
