The next six days will see the Moon align with five major planets in quick succession and this is bound to create a roller coaster of emotions that willl be subject to swift changes.

At the moment the Moon is aligned with Jupiter, and the two will stay conjunct until around 20:00 GMT (16:00 EDT). With regards to moods this will create a more generous and sympathetic atmosphere with a sociable and genial disposition together with increased optimism and enthusiasm.

This will also compliment the influence of the Sun/Venus alignment which will enhance similar mood traits with increased affection and understanding. In addition there may be a strong need for intimacy with a romantic disposition that could lead to new relationships or the rekindling of existing ones. However there is a risk these emotions could be misdirected and lead to intense disappointment or frustration that may result in feelings of loneliness or isolation.

It should be warned that although Moon/Jupiter alignments are capable of very agreeable moods and feelings there is a risk that these may be subject to exaggeration or extravagance with careless or foolhardy acts that may result in accidents or behaviour that may be over boisterous and objectionable to others. This will be especially likely where there is the consumption of alcohol and although this mood disposes towards convivial settings there is always the risk that such feelings may be taken to extremes.

Some measure of balance will come from the influence of Saturn which is still somewhat square (90 degrees) to the Sun, and also in long term opposition to Neptune. Likely mood traits may incline towards flattened emotions that will be prone to bouts of pessimism or melancholia. There is also the possibility of reduced self confidence with subtle fears and concerns that may be hard to ignore. In practice however these emotions will be balanced by the other more zestful influences of this present alert period and vice versa.

Another feature of this period is the impending opposition between the Moon and Mars. This will begin to gather influence from around 02:00 GMT on the 25 th (22:00 EDT on the 24th of May). Likely mood traits will mean an increase in general levels of aggression with a keen sense of like and dislike. Similarly there may be particularly strong passions with equally strong views that may lead to arguments or volatile behaviour. Once again alcohol will emphasise these moods still further though the restraining influence of Saturn should ensure that moods do not become too intensely inclined.

All in all this is still a highly complex mood setting with very strident, joyful and carefree moods, contrasted by reserved, cautious, timid and even depressive inclinations. Yet again the more aggressive elements of Mars are also sure to make themselves felt in what is a highly colourful period of moods and emotions.
