We are now just a matter of a few days away from the New Moon and inevitably this will give rise to tense and anxious emotions with high nervous restlessness.

In addition there is likely to be a heightened degree of awareness and perception with a noticeable apprehensions that will likely lead to a plethora of needless fears and concerns. Indeed this insecurity may fuel a considerable need for emotional stability and this will leave one prone to escapist tendencies or activities that seek out instant rewards and gratification. This may be something as mundane as a computer game or eating or drinking more than usual - the list is endless.

Effectively it means that although this atmosphere may be high on zestful energy it may not prove easy to control it in a profitable manner as consciously or subconsciously ones efforts will be directed to relieving the high degree of pressure that is evident at this time. Under these circumstances keeping to a rigid routine may prove difficult and everyday tasks may be left for another time or else abandoned altogether.

As with any immediate New Moon setting there is a very obvious risk of aggressive moods and inclinations that may see raised tempers, arguments, and volatile encounters. So far these emotions will not be too acute but coming days will see a gradual rise in tensions with the risk of conflict and upheaval within the family setting.

Once again this emotional atmosphere will be subject to extremes with strong contrasts that will mean a roller coaster of emotions. For example Saturn remains in opposition to Neptune, and Mars remains in opposition to Jupiter. As frequent visitors to this site will know the two have very different characteristics. The first evokes limited or frustrated emotional responses with inhibited creative and expressional potential, whereas the second brings dynamic and zestful energy that is high on motivational inspiration. To some extent the two will balance one another and prevent each others traits from becoming too noticeable. Effectively it means that although one may be able to feel inspired and enthusiastic with optimistic plans for the future there will be a counter influence pulling in the opposite direction that may introduce doubts and misgivings with an easy sense of disillusionment or futility.

As is often remarked on this site the New Moon brings an added risk of major earthquakes. Indeed today has already seen a strong earthquake of 7.0 magnitude in the Andreanof Islands, and the likelihood is that following days will see earthquakes of a similar if not greater magnitude.

Alert is 7.5. Moon 13% illuminated.
