Today sees one of the more extreme mood atmospheres of the current year. The reason for this is that we are currently in a spate of extremely powerful planetary alignments and just two or three days short of the Full Moon. Under the circumstances outlining which is the most important features of this alert pattern is difficult to decide. The reality however is that we are in a highly complex emotional situation that some will find difficult to deal with.

Certainly one of the most important features of this current alert is the continuing opposition between the Moon and Uranus. This has the potential for extremes of mood and circumstance and may involve dramatic scenes and circumstances. As a result emotions will be very much on edge and there is a definite risk of severe upheaval within the family setting. Aggressive and assertive energy will also be well to the fore and drastic remedies may be used to resolve even the most mundane of problems. In addition there may be bizarre, eccentric or otherwise out of character moods and emotions and one may not feel like ones ‘usual self.’

The Moon/Uranus opposition can also tend towards galvanic energy for on going schemes and ventures, and this will be further added to by numerous other factors in this mood setting to produce an atmosphere that is extremely rich in nervous energy and restlessness. As a consequence ones nerves may be very much on edge and there is always the likelihood of explosive outbursts that may see a complete loss of control and purpose. Indeed where arguments develop there may be very little restraint in what is said or done and feelings may quickly become driven to the point of hysteria or even violence.

The alignment of the Sun and Mercury will add increased awareness and perception with acute alertness that may become just too intense for comfort. This will be even further multiplied by the effects of the Mars/Jupiter opposition with its propensity towards forceful and aggressive inclinations. Similarly there may be a low tolerance for a differing opinion and this will inevitably create friction with simmering resentments and irritability that may arise even over the most trifling of concerns.

On the more positive side the Mars/Jupiter opposition is capable of bringing fun loving and care free experiences with an active enjoyment of life. However on this occasion these may be of such an intensity that they may easily degenerate into over confident fits of arrogance or a superiority complex that will be ripe for conflict, accidents, or large financial losses.

As on previous days a measure of balance may come from the on going opposition between Saturn and Neptune. This has the ability to instil more control and restraint, but with it the risk of melancholia, or acute emotional frustration with confusion and chaos.

It will be appreciated that this is a highly complex mood scene with clashing emotions that may raise tensions to rare levels of intensity. In fact this amply qualifies as one of the most intense mood scenes since Mood Alert first began. Inevitably there will be some tendency to want to take the edge off the atmosphere through either drugs or drink or escapist tendencies in their limitless guises. Consequently unless one is very disciplined little will seem to get done.

However such floods of energy are not a frequent occurrence and provided one can stay focused, determined, and disciplined, one can harness the energy of this period to extremely good effect. It may even prove of determinative help in deciding the future course of ones development or else introduce one to activities or states of perception that one may never previously have considered.
