Today sees the alignment of the Moon and Saturn in what constitutes a period of very complex celestial influence. The pair will remain aligned until around midnight GMT, or 19:00 EDT.

Likely mood traits to result from this include restrained or disciplined moods and habits with cautious or timid inclinations together with a lowered sense of optimism and self confidence. In addition there is likely to be some degree of melancholia and even depression, with a limited or restricted outlook that may be prone to hesitant, indecisive or emotionally frustrating thoughts and inclinations.

More agreeably the Moon/Saturn alignment will impose control and balance over some of the other more contrasting emotions associated with this alert and prevent them from becoming too extreme. For their part these other alignments, which are discussed below will prevent the influence of Saturn from becoming too depressing.

Another prime element of this alert pattern is the continuing alignment between the Sun and Mercury which is now at a peak. This will lead to very powerful mental and emotional faculties with alert and perceptive thoughts and feelings. It will also extend towards an unstable or uncomfortable emotional awareness together with a high degree of nervous restlessness. As a result it could feel difficult to relax and settle and there may be a tendency to churn things over in the mind, or to be filled with indecisive or contradictory thoughts and frustrations. This alignment may also produce an intense desire for change and could lead to major alterations in ones outlook or sense of direction.

The Full Moon is now just around four to five days away and already its first effects are beginning to make themselves apparent. Inevitably there is likely to be a general upturn towards more forceful and aggressive moods and emotions, with the likelihood of some tension and anxiety.

As mentioned above the more volatile aspects of the impending Full Moon will tend to be moderated by the effects of Saturn, but after midnight GMT, or 19:00 EDT, this influence will slowly begin to dissipate allowing the more forceful elements of this alert to make their presence felt.

Another forceful influence at this time is the continuing opposition between Jupiter and Mars which is now at a peak. For some weeks now this has contributed to moods that exhibit more by way of aggression and assertiveness. In the days ahead this will combine with the Full Moon energy to produce extremely heightened feelings with a marked tendency towards confrontation and belligerence as well as rebellious inclinations or behaviour that is filled with exaggerated or extravagant gestures. For the moment however the strong influence of Saturn prevent these traits from becoming too obtrusive.

It should also be remembered that the opposition between Saturn and Neptune is now also at a peak. Although this can lead to receptive and intuitive moods with refined and delicate impulses it can also lead to extreme emotional frustration and insecurity.

It will be seen from the above mentioned details that this is a highly complex mood setting with clashing emotions and contrasting feelings that will inevitably lead to some confusion and chaos.

Alert is 7.5. Moon 78% illuminated.
