14th - 15th April 2008

This mood is one of highly complex forces with clashing emotions and contradictory elements that in some cases may tend to cancel each other out. As such it represents a challenging and at times difficult mood period, but one which also has much of a positive nature to it.

For around the next 36 hours or so, until around 19:30 GMT(14:30 EDT) on the 15th of April the mood pattern will remain heavily conditioned by two notable alignments. The first is the alignment between the Sun and Mercury, and the second is the opposition between the Moon and Neptune.

At around 10:30 GMT (05:30 EDT) on the 15th of April this latter mentioned alignment will also see the Moon joined by Saturn in a direct alignment with both of them in opposition to Neptune.

With regards to moods and emotions the Sun/Mercury alignment will create a highly alert and aware sense of perception with increased nervous restlessness that for some may prove to be too sharp for comfort. As a result there may be trouble in settling with nervous agitation and a strong desire for change. In addition there may be increased awareness with a zealous degree of purpose that will be further boosted by the on going influence of the opposition between Mars and Jupiter.

As well as forceful and direct emotions with a strong element of aggression, this alignment is capable of heightened ambition with an adventurous or pioneering streak of determination. This will be especially noticeable in crusading enterprises involving, politics, religion or humanitarian issues and will also be subject to extremist tendencies or feelings of self superiority.

As mentioned above the Moon is now in opposition to Neptune. Likely mood traits to result from this include extreme emotional sensitivity, but also elements of a more receptive or refined psychology that will be open to fresh new ideas and ventures. In turn this will also create an ideal mood for spiritual or mystical awareness, particularly since this will compliment a similar propensity from the Sun/Mercury alignment. It means that this may constitute an optimum period for new avenues of personal insight and discovery, both on a conscious and subconscious level, with the chance to open up new dimensions of self enlightenment.

The less desirable side of the Moon/Neptune opposition is that it has the potential for unstable, neurotic, or deceitful emotions with a strong element of escapism or even neurotic behaviour.

As on previous days some measure of restraint will come from the influence of Saturn which is currently in opposition to Neptune. At around 10:30 GMT (05:30 EDT) on the 15th of April Saturn will come into direct alignment with the Moon. This is likely to create an atmosphere of cool and reserved emotions with inhibited or restrained behaviour. Similarly there may be lack of confidence, pessimism, or simply a lack of drive and enthusiasm.

Inevitably this may give way to depressive or melancholic moods and feelings. In reality however this atmosphere with its cross linkage to other more dynamically rooted emotions that are mentioned above will never be subject to one permanent block of feeling. It means that the more depressive elements will not become too oppressive and also that the other more aggressive, reckless and extremist factors of this alert will avoid becoming too intense. In effect this is a trade-off between widely differing influences that make the next few days one of sharply polarised moods and feelings.

Alert is 7.5. Moon 67% illuminated.
