We are currently in the midst of a highly complex period of celestial activity with numerous powerful alignments. For example today sees the start of an alignment between the Sun and Mercury, which will remain influential for around a week. Likely mood traits include very alert and emotionally active moods and emotions with a high degree of nervous restlessness. This could lead to emotional upsets or a strong desire for variety and change with extra determination to succeed in ones aims.
In addition there is likely to be an increased sense of awareness with sharpened mental and emotional faculties. Similarly perception and intuition will be enhanced with increased imaginative powers that will act as a firm boost to activities that require great originality or creative input.
The Sun/Mercury alignment may also result in increased psychic perception with enhanced spiritual or mystical awareness that may open up new avenues of personal enlightenment.
Until around 16:00 GMT (11:00 EDT) the Moon will continue in alignment to Mars and also in opposition to Jupiter. So far as moods are concerned this will lead to assertive, forceful and at times confrontational moods and feelings. Under these circumstances arguments and feelings of animosity may be quick to develop and there could be extremely nasty exchanges with highly volatile behaviour.
It should be warned that these inclinations may be made all the more sharper by the consumption of alcohol and may lead to particularly heated exchanges with strong views and the possibility of violence.
After 16:00 GMT (11:00 EDT) the Moon will stay in opposition to Jupiter until around 09:00 GMT (04:00 EDT) on Sunday the 12th of April. This may lead to better inclined emotions with a greater degree of understanding together with a heightened sense of well being or enthusiasm. However there is always the risk of over exaggerated gestures, recklessness, or an over inflated sense of superiority that may involve serious accidents or large financial losses.
Some measure of restraint and balance is likely to come from the on going opposition between Saturn and Neptune. This may add emotional frustration as well as undecided, confused and chaotic feelings to the emotional spectrum and could lead to feelings of futility that are in direct contrast to some of the earlier mentioned mood traits.
The current phase of the Moon is habitually one associated with more sedate and easy going moods that are sometimes referred to here as the ‘emotional doldrums’. As well as anything this can result in feelings of melancholia and depression with lowered self confidence and enthusiasm.
However it will be seen from other factors in this mood bulletin that the current emotional situation is not so simple and it is likely that moods will be subject to swift variation. This means that feelings of intense well being may be quickly countered by inclinations of a more doubtful and apprehensive nature, and vice versa. Inevitably this will play havoc with decision making as it may be difficult to feel consistently enthusiastic about ones plans and ideas. Indeed ideas and plans that seemed filled with attraction only a short time ago may soon appear laden with problems and setbacks. Once again the opposite may be true and only serves to demonstrate how much this current emotional atmosphere is subject to widely polarised moods and feelings.
Alert is 7.5. Moon
