18th - 19th March 2008

Unfortunately for reasons beyond our control it was not possible to bring today’s alert bulletin at the usual time.

The Moon is now in opposition to Neptune and the two will remain conjunct until around 11:00 GMT (06:00 EDT) on the 19th of March. Likely mood traits to emerge from this include extreme emotional sensitivity with the possibility of confused or chaotic thinking. In addition there may be neurotic or escapist tendencies with unstable emotions that could make it difficult to settle.

On the other hand this alignment can also dispose towards refined and responsive moods and feelings with enhanced imaginative and artistic abilities. Indeed those with psychic abilities may find their gifts noticeably more productive with a greater sense of awareness and intuition.

Another prime factor of this period is the impending Full Moon which is now only two or three days away. Inevitably this will result in tense and anxious moods and emotions together with a high degree of nervous restlessness. There is also likely to be an increase in aggression and irritability, though other factors of this alert period could mean that these feelings will not become too extreme. Even so it pays to be on guard against particularly strong emotions and these will be all the more likely where there is the consumption of alcohol as its effects will be heightened at this time. Under these circumstances even trivial problems may acquire monumental proportions and there may be a tendency towards needless worry and apprehension.

A moderating influence at this time - as it has been for the last three weeks or so is the continuing alignment between Mercury and Venus. This can lead to a better balance of moods and emotions with strong nervous and emotional energy that will be further heightened by the proximity of the Full Moon. As it is this alignment is sure to instil a degree of charm and affection, not to mention gentleness to what might otherwise have been a particularly confrontational atmosphere.

Another source of restraint is that both Mercury and Venus continue to be in opposition to Saturn. With regards to moods this means a much needed element of control and balance, together with the discipline to persevere with things in an atmosphere that has a high degree of restlessness to it. Unfortunately this alignment can also tend towards lack of confidence, easy disappointment, or feelings of isolation and loneliness.

In reality much of the celestial energy of this time is balanced out against each other, so that the more extreme features of this period may be toned down quite considerably. In many respects this period may form a period of quite productive energy with the drive and the vision, not to mention the discipline, to achieve, or set in motion important life changes that will be of lasting significance. As such this time forms a pivotal phase: A period to take stock, analyse, and make the crucial decisions for ones future course of development.

Alert is 7.5. Moon 90% illuminated.
