Today sees the second day of a massive alignment featuring Mercury, Neptune, Venus, Earth and Saturn. We are also still at the peak of the alignment between the Sun and Uranus. This period also sees itself under the influence of increased geomagnetic activity as a result of a strong Solar wind flow that has been buffetting the Earth’s atmosphere for several days.

The sum total of the above mentioned conditions is to create a highly sensitive period of moods and feelings with increased tension and anxiety. In fact it would not be overstating things to say that this is one of the years most contentious mood periods and one that many will have found greatly challenging.

Another feature of this period is that we are only just around four days beyond the New Moon and something of its tense nervous energy and restlessness, not to mention aggression, rebelliousness and irritability, will still be evident.

The influence of Saturn, which is now in approximate opposition to each of Neptune, Mercury and Venus will also be strongly felt. As a consequence there may be noticeable doubts and insecurity with a lowered sense of self confidence that will leave one prone to easy disappointment and disillusionment.

By contrast other elements of this celestial setting may encourage an enterprising attitude with a strong desire for change. However any setbacks or criticism will be keenly felt and it will be easy to feel disenchanted with ones efforts. Consequently moods may be prone to a defeatist attitude with lowered determination to get things done. Similarly there may be a strong element of escapism which may develop as much to compensate for the lowered self esteem of this period as the effects of the alignment between the Sun and Uranus.

Although the effects of the Sun/Uranus alignment will be largely balanced by the alignment between Mercury, Venus and Neptune there is still a chance that the harsher and more extreme elements of Uranus will spring to the fore. Hence there is the possibility of more drastic or dramatic events with upheaval in the family setting which will be made all the more likely by the consumption of alcohol whose effects will be magnified at this time.

The Sun/Uranus alignment is also capable of causing strange, bizarre, or out of character moods and emotions that may deviate very strongly from ones normal behaviour and could later be the cause of some considerable embarrassment.

This period may also be perfect for activities that rely on creative or inventive qualities and there will be a galvanic streak of energy that could help to give constructive form to whatever ideas may arise from this potent expressional atmosphere.

There is no doubt that some may feel greatly troubled by the last few days or so, and if so affected then be assured this mood will soon pass. By contrast others may have found the intense energy and creative drive of this period to have been highly stimulating and productive. It illustrates that the same atmosphere can be different things to different people and those that handle extreme moods better than others are usually those who have a balanced range of activities that can better channel the harsher elements of the current celestial setting. In effect its almost like a surfer catching a wave. Some may get swept away by the same sort of wave whereas the surfer channels the energy of the wave to ride things out to calmer waters.
