Unfortunately for reasons beyond our control it was not possible to issue today’s alert bulletin at the usual time.

The Moon is currently in opposition with Jupiter and the two will remain conjunct until around 08:00 GMT or 03:00 EDT. With regards to moods and emotions this means a better disposed atmosphere with an improved sense of optimism and balance. In addition there will be a more generous, sympathetic and sociable climate with increased geniality and overall sense of well being.

However Moon/Jupiter alignments are also renowned for their tendency to exaggerated moods and feelings and although this may lead to good fun and entertainment it can all too easily deteriorate into boorish or boisterous inclinations that may be objectionable to others. Equally likely are moods that incline towards extravagant, careless or unstable emotions that may mean the taking of unnecessary risks, or foolhardy gestures.

As with any celestial setting there is nearly always a balance of other factors and in this case it is the opposition between the Sun and Saturn that will prevent the more lavish or careless attributes of Jupiter from becoming too extreme. The Sun/Saturn opposition is slow moving and will be around for at least the next two weeks and will thus exert a fundamental influence over moods and emotions. These may incline towards cool and calculating traits with a responsible and practical attitude. It will also mean realistic and resourceful endeavour with better concentration and persistence of effort. On the other hand Sun/Saturn alignments can also lead to limited emotional depth and experience with a sense of personal inadequacy or depressional thoughts and behaviour with melancholia and a worrying attitude that may be prone to bouts of phobias, that could contribute to chronic ill health.

Another important factor of this period is that we are now just three or four days short of the Full Moon. Inevitably this will contribute to a more robust and zestful mood atmosphere that will prevent the above mentioned traits of Saturn from becoming too entrenched. Similarly the Sun/Saturn opposition may act as a brake against the more aggressive Full Moon elements, though it is inevitable that in the days ahead these will still be well to the fore. In addition there is likely to be increased tension and anxiety with added nervous restlessness that could make it hard to settle.

Alert is 7.5. Moon 87% illuminated.
