The principal feature of today’s alert is the alignment of the Moon and Uranus; a pairing that will stay conjunct until around 18:00 GMT (13:00 EDT).

As frequent visitors to this site will know Moon/Uranus alignments are amongst the most challenging that exist with the possibility of extremes of mood and circumstance. In fact it is a matter of record that Moon/Uranus alignments are often to be found where there are particularly vicious acts of seemingly random violence, or mass killings, or crimes that stand out for their bizarre, eccentric or even perverse elements.

Moon/Uranus alignments are also capable of very changeable, nervously restless moods, with an emotionally charged atmosphere that can lead to upheavals in family life as well as drastic and dramatic consequences. There is also the potential for galvanic and highly zestful energy that may be an aid to on going schemes and ventures, though extra discipline may be required to offset certain distracting elements of an escapist nature. As well as anything this alignment can also lead to bizarre, unusual or eccentric modes of behaviour with out of character thoughts and emotions and even perverse elements of expression.

It should be remembered that we are only a few days beyond the New Moon and some of its more restless and contentious qualities are still there to be found. This may mean added tension and anxiety that will work in tandem with several of the more potent alignments of this period. Above all it means a delicate period of sensitive and demanding feelings that may be laden with doubts and insecurity as well as apprehension and worry.

The Sun is now aligned with Neptune and will remain so for the course of the next week or so. With regards to moods this is likely to lead to self refining impulses with a subtlety of expression that may tend towards idealistic or impressionable moods and feelings.

This is also likely to be a period of intensely sensitive emotions with increased awareness and perception that may border on the psychic. Above all this will enhance mystical and spiritual intuition and could open the doors to new pathways of personal insight and discovery. It may also lead to a path of rediscovery or self alignment to more meaningful values, though a tendency towards confusion or self deception could make the process rather challenging. In addition a sense of escapism will be very powerfully felt and this could manifest itself in an intense desire to escape from the realities of life and this could result in an unusually strong attraction towards drugs or alcohol.

Under these circumstances creative or artistic talents should benefit from a boost in inspirational abilities that will enable work of the highest originality.

The Sun/Neptune alignment will be the principal feature of the coming week and in the absence of other competing alignments it will be the dominant force of the next week and its qualities will be very forcefully felt.

As mentioned in numerous previous alerts the energy of this period offers a chance of reflection and the energy to impose a desire for change that may - sooner or later - result in changes of a lasting nature. As such this is a pivotal period but also one that requires the greatest of attention as its influence can veer for better or for worse and it will strongly depend on ones own attitude as to which it will be, as the road may open out in either direction.
