January 31st - 1st February 2008

Today sees the continuation of a relatively quieter spell of moods and emotions. This means significantly less stress and anxiety but with a reduced sense of zest and enthusiasm.

As a result it may require extra discipline and motivation to get going, and ones daily routine may seem rather more of an uphill task than usual. In addition there may seem to be a complete lack of urgency and getting through the day as easily and unhurriedly as possible may be the sum total of most people’s ambition at this time.

Unfortunately those on a tight deadline may come to feel unusually pressured as time may seem to slip by with distressing haste. On the other hand those able to take things at their own pace and able to place few demands on their time and efforts may find this period to be enormously beneficial.

Mercury is still very much in alignment with Neptune and this can result in a heightened sense of emotional sensitivity with the risk of emotional upsets that in combination with the current phase of the Moon may result in melancholia and depression with lowered self confidence and enthusiasm.

Fortunately the above mentioned emotions may be balanced by the on going alignment between Jupiter and Venus which is now coming to a peak. This should ensure a better sense of harmony and balance as well as an improved overall feeling of well being. In addition this should promote a more natural degree of affection and friendship with improved co-operation as well as a better sense of sympathy and understanding.

Inevitably some of the more unsettled elements of the Mercury/Neptune alignment will be cancelled out by the more powerful Venus/Jupiter alignment, though feelings concerning vague fears and imaginings will be hard to shake off and just a few might come to find this period challenging.

The next 24 hours should continue in a similar vein, though coming days will experience a gradual sharpening in moods as we begin the rise to the next New Moon on the 7th of February.

Alert is 6.5. Moon 38% illuminated.
