We are now at a phase of the Moon (around 45% illuminated) when there is habitually a time of few great highs or lows and broadly reminiscent of the emotional doldrums. As such this very much defines this current time although the influence of numerous planetary alignments do at least add a degree of emotional colour to the setting.

More analytically this period may seem like a time of reduced enthusiasm and inspiration with little sense of drive and motivation. As a result in may feel harder to get going with lowered self confidence and an easy sense of disappointment. In addition there may be feelings of melancholia or depression with a pessimistic view of ones future prospects. If so then be assured that like all celestially induced moods this will soon pass, as other more zestful moods will soon begin to make themselves apparent.

The surprising fact is, that for such a nondescript mood atmosphere, we are now actually heading for one of the years most concentrated periods of planetary alignments and one that is sure to represent a roller coaster of moods and emotions. We are already at the beginning of this period and as reported yesterday we are now coming under the influence of the Mars/Venus opposition.

Over the coming days as it begins to peak this alignment is likely to lead to impulsive and passionate feelings with a strong sensual nature. Ties of affection will be quick to form and this could manifest itself in a better sense of co-operation and understanding with others. On the other hand this may also lead to excessive passion with very erotic impulses, and the possibility of unhappy emotional relationships.

In the present circumstances the lure of escapist tendencies in their limitless forms may be hard to resist and this could prove injurious to a well ordered routine that may be subject to tempting distractions. This atmosphere will suit those able to take things at their own pace and will be perfect as a period of rest and relaxation. On the other hand those on a tight deadline may come to feel especially pressured. Added to this there may be a poor sense of concentration and decisions may tend to be made on instinct rather than well reasoned thought and deliberation.

All in all this may not be the most inspiring of mood atmospheres, and there may be a propensity towards instant rewards and gratification, at the expense of more mundane activities.
