Cycle 24 starts today.

The latest Sun spot cycle starts today. The Sun’s activity is never quite constant and for reasons not fully understand corresponds to a cycle that takes 11 years to complete. We are currently exiting a period of low Solar activity and beginning the slow journey to the peak of Cycle 24 that will occur sometime between 2010 and 2012.
