Today sees the continuation of a relatively quieter spell of moods and emotions. This means significantly less stress and anxiety but with a reduced sense of zest and enthusiasm.

As a result it may require extra discipline and motivation to get going, and ones daily routine may seem rather more of an uphill task than usual. In addition there may seem to be a complete lack of urgency and getting through the day as easily and unhurriedly as possible may be the sum total of most people’s ambition at this time.

Unfortunately those on a tight deadline may come to feel unusually pressured as time may seem to slip by with distressing haste. The current phase of the Moon still disposes towards an emotional atmosphere with few great highs or lows. This is to say there may be a lowered sense of zest and urgency so that problems and difficulties may not seem so acute as only a matter of days ago. On the other hand this could make it harder to get going with reduced enthusiasm that for some may turn towards melancholia and depression.

Under these circumstances there may be reduced motivation and sense of industry, and this will suit those who are able to take things at their own pace and place few demands on their time and efforts. Conversely however this may prove a highly challenging period for those on a tight deadline as time may tend to drift by with little seeming to have been done. We are now at a phase of the Moon that can lead to a nondescript emotional atmosphere with few great highs and lows and broadly reminiscent of the emotional doldrums. This is very much an accurate statement of this present time though important on going alignments still make this a complex period of moods and feelings.

As mentioned in a previous alert Venus is now aligning with Jupiter. As well as anything this may create optimistic and better disposed moods and emotions with a tendency towards friendlier and more affectionate feelings. This could lead to greater understanding and sympathy between individuals and actively contribute to a happier and more rewarding period of personal experience. In addition there may be a tendency towards pleasure seeking activities or those with a high degree of entertainment value including parties and other convivial occasions of a social nature.

On the other hand the Venus/Jupiter alignment has the potential for over exaggerated emotions with the possibility of extravagant gestures that may seem inappropriate or objectionable to others. Read the rest of this entry »

Unfortunately for reasons beyond our control it was not possible to bring this bulletin of the Mood Alert at the usual time.

We are now at the height of the alignment between Mercury and Neptune and their respective qualities will be well to the fore.

This means a continuation of the very acute emotional sensitivity that has characterised moods over the last few days adding a heightened degree of perception and awareness that some may find disturbing. For others this may mean raised intuition with subtlety of expression, or thoughts that may quickly range between chaos and confusion and a low threshold of concentration that could make it difficult to focus on the task in hand.

In addition there may be vague fears and imaginings that have the potential to veer towards intense preoccupation, doubts or misgivings and capable of producing vulnerable and indecisive emotions with a poor sense of responsibility or purpose. The Moon is now in opposition to Uranus and will remain so until around 06:00 GMT (01:00 EDT) on the 26th of January.

As frequent visitors to this site will know, any alignment between the Moon and Uranus is a time for the utmost caution, as it can lead to extreme moods and emotions. In turn this can translate into drastic solutions and remedies and Moon/Uranus alignments are out of the top category of periods to be especially cautious of.

As well as anything Moon/Uranus alignments, whether as a direct alignment, or the present opposition, can result in out of character moods and feelings with bizarre, eccentric, or even perverse behaviour that may have permanent or long lasting consequences. In fact Moon/Uranus alignments are often to be seen in particularly brutal or seemingly inexplicable crimes and murders often involving good friends and acquaintances, who suddenly fall prey to one of the most mind shifting alignments that exists.
