We are still just four days beyond the Full Moon and this means there is enough nervous tension to cause problems. As a result there may be irritable thoughts and feelings with simmering resentments that may occasionally explode into spectacular outbursts of temper.

These may be of considerable venom and cause a great deal of disruption. In addition Jupiter is in opposition to Mars - the planets of war as some regard them. This will tend to heighten moods still further and although the overlying tendency is to a slow dissipation of high moods and emotions this alignment will be capable of bringing discord to even the most convivial of settings.

Probable traits will include assertive or extremist ideas and tendencies with restless discontent. On the more positive side there may be a renewed zest for on going schemes and ventures, with an adventurous and out going disposition and the ability to actively enjoy life. This is a relatively moderate term opposition and Mars and Jupiter will remain in opposition until around the middle of January.

One of the principal features of this present alert is the impending alignment of the Moon and Saturn, which begins to come to a peak around 16:00 GMT (11:00 EDT). At the same both Moon and Saturn will be in opposition to Uranus and this has important mood implications for the next few days.

Any alignment between the Moon and Saturn is bound to lead to a restrictive or limiting mood outlook, with a cool and reserved disposition, that may occasionally tend towards depressive moods and feelings with lowered self confidence. Inevitably this will clash with the effects of the Jupiter/Mars opposition whose influence, as already mentioned will tend towards more expansive and optimistic moods and emotions. However it is likely that the restraining outlook of the Moon/Saturn alignment will be the most dominant. In addition both the Moon and Saturn are also in opposition to Uranus.

This will introduce more extreme, hard edged and even ruthless emotions with an element of deliberate cruelty or harshness of deed and expression. Indeed this may lead to upheaval within the family setting with an emphasis on drastic or dramatic events and happenings.

To a certain extent the effects of Saturn will tend to cancel out the worst elements of Uranus, but the Moon and Saturn only stay aligned until around 05:00 GMT on the 29th (24:00 EDT) After this the effects of the Moon and Uranus - which remain in alignment for a further 24 hours - will be rather more obvious, with a propensity towards bizarre, unusual or out of character thoughts and emotions that for some may verge towards hysteria or extremes of thought and action.
