Usually at this phase of the Lunar cycle with the Moon around 50% illuminated there is a brief, but sometimes welcome period where moods exhibit no great highs and lows and are broadly equivalent to the emotional doldrums.

Whereas this period may exhibit some of these qualities the overall situation is complicated by the alignment of the Moon and Saturn, both of which now lie in opposition to Uranus. Frequent visitors to this site will know that any alignment or opposition featuring Uranus is one that needs careful attention, and particularly those involving the Moon.

Fortunately the properties of Saturn and Uranus - polarised as they are - tend to cancel each other out. At times however the effects one or other will predominate and hence this period needs careful attention. Effectively it means this period may be subject to fluctuating emotions with the reserved, depressive, limited, restrained, and conformist qualities of Saturn contrasted by the more extreme, unstable, eccentric and individualistic nature of Uranus.

The effects of Uranus with its potential for dramatic, drastic and fractious behaviour will be all the more evident after midnight GMT (19:00 EDT) when the Moon is no longer aligned with Saturn and the traits of Uranus become especially powerful. During this period it would be wise to guard against extremes of mood and behaviour as feelings may feel especially heightened and this may give rise to friction within the family setting.

Other likely traits may see galvanic self willed energy and determination with inventive, or resourceful inclinations with great ingenuity. However, as mentioned above, the effects of Saturn will exert a measure of restraint and control, but this may just serve to render the influence of Uranus all the more effective. The reason for this is that inspired energy without control or balance may well be wasted, but coupled with discipline and restraint can be harnessed to good effect. Unfortunately it also means that any feelings with bad intent may also draw upon this synergy to produce premeditated acts of great malevolence.

The Moon/Uranus opposition will remain until around 19:00 GMT (14:00 EDT) on the 2nd of December.
