New Moon period spawns major earthquake.

The ability of Moon phases and earthquakes to act according to a highly predictable pattern was quite dramatically illustrated on the 14th of this month with a major 7.7 quake in Northern Chile. This came around three to four days after the New Moon, which is always the most vulnerable period as geological fault lines affected by the pull of the Moon are just beginning to settle down, causing stresses to underlying tectonic plates, and thus producing larger than normal earthquakes.

This process also occurs with the Full Moon and it is a matter of record that the biggest quakes nearly always occur just after the Full or New Moon, rather than before these phases. It is also a matter of record that out of the ten major earthquakes to have occurred in the last 100 years no fewer than 8 show a definite New Moon connection.

This is now a transitional atmosphere between the high emotions of the New Moon and an altogether more sedate and easy going mood atmosphere. However there is still enough nervous tension around to cause problems, and this may lead to subtle fears and concerns with a noticeable degree of emotional restlessness. As a result it may feel difficult to settle with reduced concentration, so that tasks may tend to be rushed, or completed to a less than satisfactory manner.
