This is a period of few great highs and lows that is broadly reminiscent of the emotional doldrums. This habitually occurs when the Moon is around 60 - 50 % illuminated. Also evident around this time are emotions that may make this a period when it feels a little harder to get going. As a result there may be limited enthusiasm and inspiration, or at least if these are present, there may be a reduced capacity to act upon these feelings.

Under these circumstances there may be a clash between what one desires to do and what one is capable of doing. Part of the impetus and changeability of this period stems from the on going opposition between Uranus and Saturn. This is extremely slow moving and will be with us for many months to come. Its trait mean an alternating period of very determined and ambitious emotions, balanced against those of a more restrained and hesitant psychology, with a tendency towards depressed or pessimistic feelings. Hence the next few months will be dominated with the intense desire to achieve and succeed, but also a more restraining influence that may help to counter the more unrealistic expectations that this mood is capable of giving.

For the next few days moods and emotions may continue along a path of nondescript moods and emotions so that onward progress may require extra determination. This means that those on a tight deadline could come to feel especially pressured, whereas those able to take things at a more sedate and easy going pace may relish the languid atmosphere of this period.

Just for a few hours when the Moon is exactly 50% illuminated there is a brief time when emotions can become stressed and anxious with aggressive thoughts and behaviour. This is also a time vulnerable to major earthquakes in those areas susceptible to such events and shows how slight are the difference in influence that decide between a sedate and easy going period and one loaded with tension and anxiety.
