We are now at a phase of the Moon (around 50% illuminated) that is broadly equivalent to the emotional doldrums. That is a mood of few great highs or lows.
For some this more sedate atmosphere may be something of a relief. For others however it may all too easily lapse into periods of depression or melancholia. In addition there may be little inspiration or enthusiasm even for ones favourite pursuits or pastimes, and it could feel harder to get going.
Under these circumstances the sum total of most people’s ambition may be to get through the day as easily as possible, with little thought of ambitious enterprises or pushing the boundaries of ones endurance.
The opposition between Venus and Neptune still remains active though its influence is steadily diminishing. For some weeks now this has brought a better balance of harmony and emotion, with sensitive and delicate feelings, but also a tendency towards depression or melancholia.
A peculiarity of this phase of the Moon (i.e. 50% illuminated) is that despite the fact that this is a nondescript atmosphere there is often a short but noticeable spell of more aggressive and belligerent moods and feelings. Around this phase there is also a tendency for larger than normal earthquakes, which this month is very well illustrated by a 6.5 quake on the Alaska Peninsula.
Coming days should see yet further moods of a sedate and tranquil nature, but towards the beginning of next week these will give way to more definite tensions and anxieties as we approach the New Moon on the 11th of the month.
Alert is 6.5. Moon 52% illuminated.
