Usually with this present phase of the Moon there is a short but definite spell of sedate moods and feelings that is broadly equivalent to the emotional doldrums. This is certainly true of this present period, with the possibility that it may feel harder to get going or require extra drive to accomplish even the most trivial of tasks.

However there is still need to be wary as this period also sees the alignment of the Moon with Mars. This will weak around 12:00 GMT, or 08:00 EDT, and the pair will remain conjunct for just over 14 hours.

With regard to moods this means that one can expect a sudden pulse of more aggressive and contentious emotions with energetic and quick responses. In addition there may be easily aroused passions with a strong sense of like and dislike, together with a high degree of nervous restlessness. This may lead to intolerant, forceful, or impulsive feelings capable of very forthright expression.

As mentioned above the current phase of the Moon should mitigate against extremes of behaviour and another source of moderating influence is the opposition between Venus and Neptune.

As frequent visitors to this site will be aware the Venus/Neptune opposition has been influential for well over three weeks now. This in turn has contributed to more delicate, and refined moods and emotions with sensitive feelings capable of a better balance of harmony. This has meant a subtle toning down of the more contentious periods of this time, but also introduced sentimental and reflective moods. Less desirable is a tendency towards easy disappointment of disillusionment with the possibility of self deception or acts of deceit. The fact is that the Venus/Neptune opposition is now well past its peak and the coming week will see it lose much of its influence.

As it is the present spell is a delicate balance between sedate moods and emotions and those of a considerably more powerful and contentious nature that may be capable of evoking feelings of tension and conflict. However this will be limited to the duration of the Moon/Mars alignment, and once this is over more easy going moods should once again take their place.
