Today sees the Moon at perigee - which represents its closest monthly approach to the Earth. Coming just days after the Full Moon this means an intensification and prolongation of the Moon’s effects with extra tension and anxiety, along with a noticeable degree of nervous restlessness.

As a result moods may still feel stretched and on edge, with increased awareness and perception. In addition there is the potential for short tempered outbursts, irritability, or intolerance. This atmosphere is also likely to give rise to subtle fears and apprehensions along with notable concerns with the likelihood of insecurity or feeling unusually exposed or vulnerable to on going problems and difficulties. Above all this may feel like an acutely sensitive atmosphere so that feelings will be magnified or have a sharp and penetrating edge to them.

Although this period has no direct planetary alignments, it is filled with numerous on going oppositions that make it an extremely complex period for moods and emotions. For example Mars is still in opposition to Jupiter, with Uranus opposed to Mercury. Meanwhile Venus is opposed to Neptune.

Of special note is the opposition between the Sun and Uranus. Although this has only just begun to get started it will exert a powerful influence for at least the first three weeks of September. Likely traits include behaviour that may deviate very strongly from the norm with disruptive and rebellious inclinations, along with the possibility for dramatic changes. However more will be said on this in a later bulletin.

For the moment it is the complex interchange between a variety of clashing emotions that hold the balance, and this is creating an uncertain atmosphere laden with insecurity and doubt. On the more positive side there is plenty of nervous energy for on going schemes and ventures, but the temptation of escapist tendencies could be a distracting influence.
