We are now in the midst of one of the years most concentrated periods of planetary alignments. As will be seen from the pic below the Sun, the Moon, Venus, Mercury and Saturn are now all within 15 degrees of one another and in opposition to Neptune with the Earth in between. Meanwhile Mars is in opposition to Jupiter. And remember all this comes exactly at the time of the New Moon which is always a period of heightened moods and tension.

To even begin to give an accurate appraisal of the likely moods that are possible from such a grouping of planets would need a book sized manuscript. The atmosphere is really that complex, and very difficult to predict.

Speaking in a generalised manner however it is obvious that this period will be one of the highest tension with strong apprehensions, capable of extreme moods and feelings. Emotions will be very much on edge and for some this atmosphere may come close to what they feel they can stand.

There will also be stark contrasts, with more refined and sympathetic feelings able to quickly degenerate into irritable, aggressive or even vulgar moods and inclinations. This may also give way to arguments, or boisterous and rowdy behaviour that will be especially likely where there has been the consumption of alcohol whose effects will be greatly magnified at this time. In addition escapist tendencies will be very much to the fore and keeping to ones daily routine may require extra determination and discipline, and tasks may easily be abandoned or left for another time.

Mercury is now aligned close to both the Sun and the Moon and this will heighten the overall tension with an acute sense of awareness and perception together with intense nervous restlessness. Under these circumstances there may be pressing fears and concerns so that problems may acquire monumental proportions.

The reality is that this period is capable of a whole range of contrasting moods and emotions, and the end result is likely to be a tense and nervous atmosphere that could pose significant problems for those of a sensitive nature. It should be warned that extremes of emotion are possible and this period requires the most careful of handling.
