We are now entering a highly complex period of planetary alignments. In fact the Sun together with Mercury, Venus and Saturn are now separated by just 17 degrees. Meanwhile the Sun is coming into direct alignment with Mercury, whilst both are in opposition to Neptune. For good measure Mars is in opposition to Jupiter.
As if this wasn’t enough we are barely a day short of the New Moon, and there has also been a moderate upsurge of geomagnetic activity due to an increased Solar wind flow.
Inevitably the combined effects of this incredible show of celestial influence will be hard to predict. Certain to say however that this will be a time of greatly increased tension and anxiety with the possibility of extremes of mood and emotion. There will also be heightened nervous restlessness with impatient, possibly intolerant moods with a belligerent or confrontational attitude.
However this period is subject to great contrasts and there is also a counter influence of more refined and reflective attitudes that may act as a balance to the aggressive tendencies of this period. Fears and concerns may loom large with apprehensions that may not easily be calmed. Similarly thoughts of a determined and disciplined nature may swiftly be assailed by doubts, or sudden insecurity. At the same time however this mood can engender headstrong, adventurous and boisterous inclinations with scant regard for any apparent risks. This means there may be a likelihood of accidents, financial losses or extravagant purchases.
In addition this mood is susceptible to escapist inclinations so that ones daily routine may be distracted by more tempting alternatives. It should be warned that the effects of alcohol will be greatly magnified at this time, and even moderate quantities may lead to aggressive or objectionable moods and feelings.
The overall New Moon atmosphere will be further heightened by the alignment of the Sun and Mercury. This will create a mood of powerful mental and nervous activity but with a tendency to nervous upsets, unsettled feelings, and a strong desire for change. Concentration may be far from optimal and it may prove difficult to keep to the task in hand. Under these circumstances of high nervous energy, physical tasks will be preferred over those requiring high mental dexterity as this will allow an outlet for excess energy.
All in all this is an atmosphere capable of a bewildering degree of variety and is a reflection of the complex celestial forces mentioned above. It should be warned that extremes of mood are possible, but also the drive and determination to succeed or to get things done.
Alert is 8. Moon 1% illuminated.
