10th - 11th August 2007

We are now less than two days away from the New Moon with a corresponding increase in general tensions and anxiety. This is also a period of very heightened planetary activity and this will contribute yet further to what is a highly complex mood situation. As a result there will be noticeable surge of nervous restlessness with sensitive and vulnerable emotions contrasted by more forceful and direct inclinations.

These contrasts are a direct result of the clashing nature of a celestial pattern that sees the Sun in opposition to Neptune, at the same time as Mars is in opposition to Jupiter.

In addition to this there are also the effects of the New Moon to be considered. This may result in assertive and aggressive moods with unsettled, intolerant, impatient, or confused emotions. Yet paradoxically under present circumstances more belligerent or irritable feelings may easily coexist with those of a sedate and even melancholic nature.

At the same time brash and boisterous behaviour may be contrasted within a very short time by lack of confidence, melancholia or even depression. It means that while this atmosphere is disposed to light, high spirited moods with good social interaction, they can very quickly incline towards pessimistic, morose or otherwise easily discouraged feelings. Naturally this may create havoc with ones planning, as what seemed like a great idea one moment may later come to be viewed with great scepticism, or vice versa.

The influence of Mars in opposition to Jupiter means there will be some degree of adventure, enthusiasm and determination, but this can also develop into a single minded, over bearing attitude. It may also lead to feelings of self superiority, or extreme attitudes laden with idealism.

Fears and apprehensions may tend to loom large and as on previous days worries may acquire an obsessive, almost neurotic edge to them.

Creative or artistic expression is well favoured at this time but finding the necessary concentration to make the best possible use of this atmosphere may be difficult. Similarly it may be difficult to keep to ones daily routine as thoughts of a strongly escapist nature may be hard to resist.

All in all this is a highly complex emotional atmosphere capable of strong contrasts, and as to which of these predominate will largely be a result of personal attitudes and circumstances.

Alert is 7.5.. Moon 4% illuminated.
