Major earthquakes accompany New Moon.

Only a matter of a week ago we drew attention to the fact that owing to the proximity of the New Moon as well as numerous major planetary alignments there was a heightened risk of increased earthquake activity in those areas of the world vulnerable to such events. In the event our suspicions were extremely well founded and the last week has seen an incredible spate of large earthquakes throughout the planet. In Japan for example a major quake of at least 6.7 magnitude led to numerous deaths as well as widespread disruption with many homes destroyed. It also led to a serious fire at a nuclear power plant with the leakage of contaminated water into the nearby sea.

For more on this please see the following report.

Nuclear leak follows earthquake.

Below is a list of just some of the major quakes that occurred over the latest New Moon period.

Magnitude 6.3 Andreanof Islands July 13th

Magnitude 6.3 Vanuatu Islands July 15th

19th - 20 th July 2007

The early part of this current alert is still influenced by the continuing opposition between the Moon and Uranus. For over 24 hours this has contributed to a period of unstable moods, emotionally charged feelings, and the possibility of extremes of expression. This means a likelihood of turmoil or upheaval within the family setting, as well as the possibility of unusual, bizarre, or otherwise out of character moods and emotions.

The good thing is that this short but intense period of unstable emotions will start to diminish around noon GMT, or 07:00 EDT. Even so there may be some residual energy left for some hours afterwards, and it may be the evening GMT before more relaxed and easy going moods are noticeable.

However it should be remembered that we are just a matter of four days after the New Moon and some elements of its nervous restlessness may still be powerful enough to cause problems. This means a tendency towards irritable or impatient moods with an unsettled disposition and relatively poor concentration. It may also lead to subtle fears and apprehensions, and although these may not be as acute as on previous days they may still prove a challenge for those susceptible to a sensitive atmosphere.

Coming days should see a noticeable downturn in the intensity of moods and feelings, although this may be at the expense of some depression or feelings of lethargy. Either way emotions will not be at the same level of tension and anxiety and for some will serve as a very welcome change.

This atmosphere continues to stimulate change and ideas with a desire to experience new and more rewarding avenues of inquiry. It is also great for creative endeavours and provided one can find the necessary perseverance could form a period of highly rewarding enterprise.

The coming days will also see us heading into one of the years sparsest periods of planetary alignments, and this in itself should lower the intensity of moods yet further.

Alert is 7.5. Moon 29% illuminated.
