We are now just barely a day short of the New Moon, and this will mean a noticeable rise in stress and tension. In addition there may be an increased sense of awareness with a rise in general fears and apprehensions, together with nervous restlessness. Under these circumstances it may prove difficult to settle and some may find themselves on the brink of crisis point.

This month the New Moon has been made all the more potent by the alignment of the Moon and Mercury, which lasts until around Noon GMT, or 07:00 EDT on the 13th. Moon/Mercury alignments can greatly accentuate all moods and emotions with powerful mental and emotional awareness, that while exhilarating and zestful for some, can be capable of paralyzingly stressful feelings for others. In addition there may be a tendency towards aggressive or forceful inclinations with a headstrong or belligerent attitude.

These feelings will be made all the more likely  by the consumption of alcohol whose effects will be magnified so that even moderate quantities may be capable of producing unpleasant, antisocial, or otherwise objectionable reactions. On the other hand alcohol may stimulate the expression of very much more delicate or sentimental feelings stemming from the diminishing effects of the Venus/Neptune opposition.

Similarly the effects of caffeine will be greatly magnified at this time, and may contribute yet further to increased tension and anxiety.

Some may perceive this to be an atmosphere laden with intensely vulnerable or insecure feelings that may require great reassurance, and where this is lacking apprehensions or even a sense of desperation may flourish. On the other hand happy will be those who are able to fully utilise the intense energy of this time to achieve prodigious amounts of work to a very high standard.

As this is very much a self absorbed atmosphere it may be as well not to rely too much on the help of others as this is not a mood that relates very well to the needs of others.
